Software Engineer, Data Platform

Overview

We are hiring a Data Platform Engineer, who will report directly to the Engineering Manager for the Product Data Platform. This position is ideal for either a Data Engineer with experience in software engineering and cloud infrastructure or a Software Engineer who possesses a solid understanding of analytical data platforms.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have experience working with big data systems and will be adept at designing and developing high-quality software services. As part of our team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of innovative solutions for Atlassian's data platform, emphasizing reliability, scalability, and performance.

In this position, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, including backend specialists and core data engineers, who are dedicated to managing Atlassian's customer-facing data platform.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Data/Software Engineering role
• Experience with Big data processing technologies like Spark, Flink.
• Degree in Computer Science, EE, or related STEM discipline
• Experience building applications in one or more languages (Kotlin, Scala, Java, Python)
• Built solutions using public cloud offerings such as AWS
• Solid understanding and experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices, e.g. with Flask
• Experience with continuous delivery, continuous integration, and source control system such as Git
