About:

Stott and May are currently partnered with an innovative energy business who are focussed on developing and implementing best-in-class smart meter measurement systems. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with Java and AWS expertise to join the expanding team.

What you will be doing:

As Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for introducing and implementing a new software system and constructing intermediate layers to extract, enrich and provide data to their customers (e.g. energy consumption data), also setting up the server and data structure for automation to clients.

Skills & Experience:

For this role, we are looking for someone with the following experience:

• 5+ years’ experience working with Java and/or Kotlin with frameworks such as Spring Boot or Quarkus.
• Exposure to AWS, with proficiency in system integration/DevOps topics.
• Comfortable in building distributed systems and Microservice architectures.

Nice to have:

• Architecture in terms of different data layers.
• Experience working with Python, Linux and also Grafana for monitoring/logging.
• Experience working within the IoT space on IoT platforms highly desired.
