Senior IT Security Engineer who will join our client in the utilities sector.
Responsibilities:
- Manage cybersecurity projects, including planning, architecture, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard company systems and data while ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal regulations.
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls and measures to mitigate identified risks and vulnerabilities across the IT infrastructure and applications.
- Conduct regular security assessments, including penetration testing and vulnerability scanning, to identify weaknesses and recommend remediation actions.
- Monitor, analyze, and investigate security events and incidents, identifying potential threats, determining root causes, and developing effective response plans.
- Oversee security infrastructure, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption technologies, ensuring their optimal performance and security.
- Provide cybersecurity training and awareness programs to employees to promote best practices and a strong security culture.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate security into all stages of system development and lifecycle.
- Report to the IT Cybersecurity Team Leader and collaborate closely with Infrastructure and Application Development teams.
Required technical skills:
- 5+ years in system administration, with expertise in Windows and Linux.
- 3+ years in cybersecurity roles, with experience in security engineering, authentication, and applied cryptography and ability to manage cybersecurity projects, covering architecture, planning, deployment, and maintenance.
- 2+ years of experience with SIEM (QRadar or Quest), IDS/IPS, EDR, IPS/IDS, WAF, NGFW, firewalls encryption, and vulnerability scanners.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching, with experience in Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
- Scripting skills for automation and security tasks.
- Hands-on experience with security monitoring and incident management.
- Experience with compliance standards, penetration testing, cloud security (AWS, GCP, OCI), Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO), web application security (HTTPS, PKI, IIS, Apache), and virtualization (VMware).
