Product Manager (ex Software Developer)

Newly created role for a Product Manager is the retail sector. We may be asking for a lot here, but the client requires a candidate that comes from a software development background and has experience in project management.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring this ‘digital front door’ and its associated applications and components are well-maintained and enhanced through a formal continuous improvement programme, ensuring store team members continue to love and receive significant value from this fantastic bespoke product.

You will also need prior management expertise, as you will be leading a small team of BA’s (5).

Skill set / Experience needed -

• Experience as an IT product manager for a large/complex organisation
• 10+ years of IT and Management related experience
• Proven experience leading large, diverse teams with a combination of onshore and offshore resourcing
• The ability to provide strong technical leadership and decision-making accountability for this new application and the suite of associated back-office applications
• Experience Building, leading, and motivating a diverse multi-squad software development team (comprising both onshore and off-shore resourcing)
• Manage a budget for the product and drive reductions in the total cost of ownership
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to your team
• Create a product vision and maintain a product backlog
• Maintain and communicate a product roadmap
• Perform all activities necessary to ensure a stable and future-proof enterprise-wide solution that continues to meet business objectives
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycles
• Experience in programme and project management is essential
• Prior hands-on development expertise is essential
• Experience in using Jira and Confluence is desirable
• Experienced working in a Microsoft environment (Power Apps) is highly desirable
• Experience working in the Retail/FMCG sector will be highly beneficial
