Senior Project Manager

Opportunity

3-6 month contract for experienced Senior Project Manager with background in ICT Infrastructure and Telecommunications. We are seeking a Senior PM based in Melbourne with experience migrating telecommunications, WAN and mobility providers within a defined period of 3- 6 months. This national client operates a federated IT shared services model, so you will need to engage with teams across the major Australian capitals and 2 regional sites in NSW. You'll need to roll your sleeves up and operate independently within a national IT Operations team. You'll be working with both IT and business stakeholders, legacy and incoming vendors, to drive and deliver a smooth migration.

Initial 3-6-month day rate contract, market rate, significant travel.

Role

• Plan, manage and direct national transition of telecommunications, WAN and mobility providers across the country
• Work with business and IT stakeholders at national head office and state level
• All facets of vendor transition and on-boarding, and service delivery establishment
• Develop the project plan and timeframes, manage and deliver to schedule
• Risk, issues, actions, dependency management (RAID)
• Develop a playbook for transition across all states, territories, and regional sites (approx. 8).
• Project reporting and stakeholder management to GM and business sponsor level

Requirements

• Significant experience as ICT Project Manager with specialization or deep expertise in telecommunications, WAN and mobility
• Evidenced experience managing the transition of telecommunications, WAN and mobility providers
• Strong experience planning projects, managing delivery, risks, and financial management, resource management within formal project management methodology (Prince2, PMBOK, Agile)
• Ability to operate independently with ambiguity and under limited direction within Operations team, working with broader ICT team at national and state levels
• Strong relationship management with legacy and incoming vendors and SI's
• Ability to travel interstate throughout planning and rollout - 90% metro, 10% regional
• Formal qualifications in Information Technology supplemented with formal Project Management qualifications (Prince2, PMBOK, Agile)
• Experience with MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint
