Head of Trading

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Trading to lead and scale our trading operations and strategies. You will oversee day-to-day trading activities, refine algorithmic models, manage risk, and lead a team of professionals. Collaboration with various departments, including development, analytics, and compliance, is key to ensuring success. Your primary goal will be to maximize yield by identifying market inefficiencies and ensuring optimal trading conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trading activities, including market-making, arbitrage, and other strategies, ensuring smooth operations.
• Develop and execute long-term trading strategies in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Lead and mentor a team of traders, ensuring alignment with goals and efficient processes.
• Work closely with teams to optimize algorithms, improve trading efficiency, and address operational challenges.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging asset classes to guide strategic direction.
• Monitor markets and collaborate with analysts to seize opportunities and manage risks.
• Communicate trading performance and strategies to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.

What You Bring

• 5–7 years of trading or financial services experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of digital assets and traditional financial markets.
• Familiarity with market-making, arbitrage, and risk management practices.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional projects and align teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).

Nice to Have

• Strong Python programming skills, particularly in building high-performance trading systems.
• Understanding of blockchain protocols, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and DeFi ecosystems.
• Experience designing automated risk management processes for volatile markets.
