About The Role
In this role, you will help build our Cloud Platform SRE foundations. You will partner closely with our observability team to apply business logic on top of the capability they developed to empower service owners and SREs to gain more insights about their services and domains. You will develop tools to help them prevent incidents from happening and enable them to do near real-time detection of failures and more efficient troubleshooting. You will also implement end-to-end observability and visualize the data to achieve the desired availability at scale. You will impact multiple areas of business via continuous improvement of our Cloud Platform reliability.

Responsibilities
- Drive continual improvement in observability, monitoring, and scalability, with the primary goal of helping service owners and SREs gain more insight and making troubleshooting and debugging more efficient.
- Develop toolings for automation, execution, and data analysis to equip service owners and SREs to apply reliability and resilience in their services and domains.
- Discovery and fill gaps in the end-to-end reliability, all the way from Netflix clients, cloud gateway, microservices to CDN, etc.
- Write and review code, develop documentation, and debug the hardest problems on some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world.
- Coordination, collaboration, and partnership across multiple stakeholders to implement reliability at scale.
- 5+ years of service reliability/operational experience running large-scale, high-performance systems & internet services with a focus on traffic at scale.
- Knowledge of and proven experience with AWS Cloud Platform including API Gateway and Microservices.
- Expert-level knowledge of Unix or Linux systems and TCP/IP network fundamentals.
- Proficient understanding of networking principles, transport, and application protocols, especially DNS, TLS, HTTP(s), GRPC etc.
- Proficient in a programming language such as Go, Javascript, Python etc.
- Experience with using real-time and BigData analytic processing technologies (Kafka, time series database and Presto/Trino, Spark SQL, etc)
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and to communicate effectively with internal and external partners
- Preferred - B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
