Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database are world-class relational database systems widely used across the globe on everything from small devices and servers to some of the largest cloud deployments in the world. The amount of data being generated in the world is soaring. With this dramatic growth, the importance of the data platform continues to grow tremendously. Customers need rich data services that provide deep insights from data. All of this must be done while supporting high availability, predictability and elasticity; Supporting 100 terabytes of data; ability to both scale up and scale out; supporting 1000’s of users on a single machine; or a complex SQL query that utilizes 1000’s of cores. As an engineer in the Hyperscale team in Azure SQL Database, you will work on the latest technology in compute and storage, apply innovative algorithms for solving database, computing, and storage problems at scale and with high performance. Qualifications

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD with work or research experience in computer science or related field.
• 6+ years of programming experience in C++ OR C# OR Java
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Sound problem-solving skills with strong system sensibilities
• Proficient in C++/C#/Java or other high-level languages.
• Good understanding of database system internals, query processing, storage systems.
• Experience in building and shipping production grade software or services.
• High enthusiasm, integrity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness.
• Work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions, celebrate successes.
• Solve problems by always leading with deep passion and empathy for customers.
