Network Engineer

Role: Network/Automation Engineer (WAF/Ansible)

Location: Remote, UK

Duration: 6months Contract Inside IR35

Job Summary:

Must Have: Firewall, Proxy, WAF, Ansible Automation, Python, Banking background

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with strong technical knowledge of Proxy, Firewall process workflows, and management. You will collaborate with network security teams and developers to design and implement automation solutions for managing network infrastructure and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, automate, and maintain proxy and firewall configurations to streamline network security management.
• Implement and optimize processes for firewall and proxy management through automation tools such as Ansible and Python scripts.
• Work closely with IT and network security teams to understand infrastructure needs and automate workflows.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance the performance of automated network processes.
• Ensure all network and security systems comply with organizational security policies and standards.
• Design and maintain scripts to automate system updates, patches, and compliance checks for firewalls and proxies.
• Provide troubleshooting support for firewall and proxy automation issues.
• Continuously research and implement best practices for network security automation.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Automation Engineer or similar role in networking, security, or IT infrastructure.
• Strong technical knowledge of proxy and firewall workflows and management.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting tasks.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible to manage configuration, automation, and deployment.
• Familiarity with network protocols and security standards.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve automation issues quickly.
• Solid understanding of network security concepts and best practices.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Excellent communication skills to document processes and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
