Java Developer (Modernisation & Migration)

Overview:

Our client in Financial Services is seeking a skilled Java Developer to support the modernisation of data-centric systems and lead key migration initiatives to Azure. This role provides hands-on experience in system re-architecture and offers a pathway toward transitioning into a Solution Architect role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate monolithic systems to Azure, leveraging best practices in:
• Microservices development with Java Spring Boot for operational use cases.
• Data pipelines design using Azure Data Factory / Synapse for analytical purposes.
• Partner with teams to design and implement scalable, modern data products.
• Incorporate modern data architecture principles into development processes.
• Conduct workshops to align stakeholders on architecture and design strategies.
• Define clear recommendations for service ownership and usage.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience in Java development, particularly with Java Spring Boot.
• Exposure to Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse) and cloud migration projects.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and data pipeline design.
• Interest in solution architecture, with some hands-on experience or exposure.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work collaboratively across teams.
