Senior Data Engineer

Now, we’re hiring a Senior Data Engineer in Vienna to work with one of our key clients on the migration of their data platform to the cloud. This role requires to spend around 30% in the office. What You’ll Do:

• Develop and Optimise Data Pipelines: Design and implement efficient data pipelines to streamline processing and integration across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Enhance Data Platforms: Take ownership of optimizsng performance and scalability within a data platform while overseeing the migration to the cloud.
• Ensure Data Quality and Governance: Implement comprehensive data quality frameworks and establish best practices for data governance, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Collaborate Closely with Clients: Work directly with our client’s data team to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable, data-driven solutions.
• Support Cloud Migration: Be a key contributor in migrating on-premise systems to AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring a smooth and scalable transition.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in data warehousing and cloud migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Experience with modern Data Warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift or some other.
• Knowledge of ETL processes, data modelling, and data governance.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with financial data and SAP ERP systems.
• Experience working in the banking sector is a plus, though not mandatory.
• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Snowflake Snow PRO.
