Upright is on a mission to make common-sense net impact data available to everyone. As our impactful business continues to grow, both in revenue and team size, we want to ensure we can maintain the well-organized company and thoughtful processes that have been key to our success. To make this happen, we’re looking for an exceptional People & Operations Assistant to join our dynamic team and help us along our growth journey. This is a fantastic opportunity for a rising star eager to dive into HR and people operations, while also being ready to roll up your sleeves and handle office admin tasks to keep everything running smoothly.

As our People & Operations Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting both HR and office operations. You’ll be instrumental in keeping the office organized, managing onboarding processes, handling HR-related tasks, and ensuring that daily operations flow seamlessly. This hands-on role blends HR support and office management, making it perfect for someone who’s passionate about learning and growing in the HR field while also contributing to the smooth functioning of our team.

This part-time role offers flexibility and a fast-paced, dynamic work environment - perfect for someone who thrives in an evolving company and enjoys taking on a variety of responsibilities. Starting at approximately 24 hours per week (around 3 days), there’s potential for the role to expand into a full-time position as responsibilities and the need for support increase.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing office management, including maintaining supplies, managing office equipment, and ensuring shared spaces are well-organized
  • Coordinating events and logistics to ensure smooth execution
  • Owning the onboarding process for new team members together with the team lead to ensure they feel welcomed and set up for success
  • Assisting and eventually taking ownership of HR-related administrative tasks, such as payroll
  • Supporting recruitment efforts, from prescreening applications to managing administrative tasks in the hiring process
  • Stepping in to assist with various tasks across the company to help maintain efficient operations and support the team as needed

SIGNS OF BEING A GREAT MATCH FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Relevant degree: A close-to-graduation or recently graduated degree in a relevant field
  • Self-starter: You’re proactive, take the initiative, and like to pitch in without waiting to be asked. You spot what needs to be done and jump right in!
  • Super organized: You’ve got a keen eye for detail and can juggle multiple tasks at once, keeping everything running smoothly
  • Eager to grow: You’re excited to learn new things, especially in HR and operations, and you’re ready to grow as the role evolves
  • Flexible and hands-on: You’re willing to take on a mix of tasks, from HR support to office admin, and you’re happy to roll up your sleeves to get things done
  • Great communicator: You know how to express yourself clearly and professionally, and you’re comfortable talking with everyone on the team - whether it’s in person or over email. Excellent language skills in both Finnish and English are required due to the nature of the role
  • Previous experience: Any prior experience in administrative, HR, or operations roles is considered a plus
