Junior Software Engineer (Backend, TypeScript) - Transport Network (all genders)

THE ROLE & THE TEAM


As a Junior Software Engineer (all genders) in the transport teams of the logistics technology department you will contribute to developing systems to support the delivery of millions of items to our customers.

You will be part of one of our teams in Berlin/Dortmund where we are seeking support to create, run and continuously improve a robust system to enable internal clients to consume and maintain our transport network, the source of truth for planning and scheduling transports between our warehouses and beyond.


WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• Designing, developing, migrating, deploying, operating & improving crucial software solutions with a high quality bar in the Zalando transport domain
• Implementing and testing new features before deploying them to production using a continuous delivery model of deployment
• Owning your development, being curious and looking forward to learn new things
  
  
  
  

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have experience in professional software development using a Node.js based language (TypeScript / JavaScript), as well as an understanding of SQL.
• You have an idea about what it means to design and operate REST APIs in a microservice landscape.
• You are curious and willing to grow. You own your development, you are reliable and willing to take over responsibility.
• You have at least some experience in all parts of the software development life-cycle, from understanding the requirements to software development, build, test, deployment and operations.
