Android Developer

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Android developer to work on our digital identity and authentication solution. You should be passionate about software development, working in an agile team where everyone's opinion matter and where you have freedom under responsibility.

You will be working hands-on with our apps and our cornerstone the SDK which implements our solution. Our technology of choice is mainly Kotlin, and our apps use Compose and strive to use modern Android architectural principles. Your work will include adding new features to our SDK and integrating them and other services into our apps. We do not require you to be a security expert, but an interest in the topic helps. Quality is a common denominator in everything we do since our solutions are used in highly scalable, performant, and available environments. To be able to move forward with confidence and speed, a key component for our success is good and stable automated tests which we today use Jenkins and GitLab CI to achieve.

The Team

The team you will join is part of the Mobile Identity Tribe at Signicat. We are responsible for the mobile authentication SDK and the apps that use the MobileID solution from Signicat. The solution we deliver is used by millions of end users across Europe. The team is partly co-located in equal sizes in Lisbon, Portugal, and Oslo, Norway.

The Mobile Identity Tribe we are part of consists of three teams working closely together. In addition to the mobile team are the core authentication team and the service team. The core authentication team is responsible for the core server component for our MobileID solution and the service team develops additional services on top of our core server solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement new features, services, and flows in our apps.
• Maintain, design, and build new features for our SDK.
• Work on the full software development lifecycle, from design specifications, code, testing, and publishing.
• Improve the security of our solutions by staying current with security standards, threat modeling, and best practices.
• Engage in in technical discussions, architectural decision, and cross-team collaborations to drive our projects forward.
  
  

Desired Experience

• Have relevant higher education.
• Hands-on experience with Android development with Kotlin or Java.
• Familiar with app publishing.
• Familiar with app obfuscation and/or app hardening.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Proactive and communicative team player.
• Bonus if you have experience with security, eID, or payments.
