Position Summary

Imersis is a cloud-based, data quality tool, designed to help state Medicaid agencies prepare Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) data for advanced analytics and to meet federal requirements. This position will help an emerging Python/SQL Developer hone their skills while supporting the continued advancement of the Imersis system. Interns will be considered for full time positions as Jr. Data Engineers long term.

What We Need You To Do

• Write/edit calculations using Python Pyspark from high level specifications that will evaluate data quality of T-MSIS data
• Write/edit SQL Warehouse and Databricks Catalog queries for data visualizations in Apache Superset
• Run ETL pipelines in Databricks to test T-MSIS Data Quality
• Communicate with our testing partners to identify, triage, and fix bugs and errors in both the back end and front end of the application
  
  

Requirements

What We Need you to Bring:

• Experience with Python, SQL
• Must be "Data-minded", brings examples of showing analytical skills to organize and manipulate large amounts of data
  
  

Skills That Would Set You Apart

• Pyspark, SQL Warehouse
• Knowledge/experience in healthcare, especially claims experience
• Experience working in Databricks
• Git experience
  
  

Skills We Will Provide As Part Of This Internship

• T-MSIS data structures
• Working with Protected Health Information (PHI)
• Diverse database loading/extraction skills
• Constructing ETL pipelines

Salary Description

$15-20/Hour
