Job Description

Job Title: AKS/DevOps Engineer

Job Location: Abu Dhabi

Primary Skills

  • Proficiency in managing and deploying Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
  • Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Bicep.
  • Deep knowledge of YAML, Helm charts, and Kubernetes manifests for application deployment.
  • Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, including Networking, Storage, and Monitoring.

Secondary Skills

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments, including Azure Active Directory (AAD) and RBAC policies.
  • Basic understanding of microservices architecture and service mesh (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and version control systems like GitHub or Bitbucket.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage AKS clusters for production and non-production environments.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Create and manage robust CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, tests, and deployments.
  • Integrate pipelines with Kubernetes for seamless application delivery.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
  • Ensure consistent and repeatable deployments of Azure resources.
  • Implement monitoring solutions to track performance and health of AKS clusters and applications.
  • Optimize resource utilization and costs within AKS and Azure environments.
  • Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery of applications.
  • Provide technical support for AKS-related issues and resolve production incidents.
  • Implement Kubernetes network policies and secure application deployment practices.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.
  • Document AKS configurations, CI/CD processes, and troubleshooting guides.
