Job Description:

The Technology Strategy and Development International team is looking for an intern to work on innovation-driven projects. We are offering an opportunity for the candidate to assist in the design and implementation of AI solutions.

In this role, you will be supporting data analysis, ML modelling, software development (optional) efforts and collaborating with a cross-functional technical team as while tackling R&D initiatives that will:

• Provide best-in-class applicable AI and Machine Learning (ML) solutions to our internal stakeholders
• Enhance your individual skills in the areas of AI/ML
• Place UPS at the forefront of practical usage of AI/ML through research, design, development, and deployment of various applications, models, and platforms for R&D proof-of-concepts (POCs) and prototypes
  
  
  

As a data analyst, you will be required to:

• Support the team in conducting analyses and feature engineering when developing ML solutions.
• Work closely with the team to understand business objectives and data requirements.
• Build reports of analysis to be shared with business stakeholders.
• Document the process, including codes and logic used during the analysis to support knowledge sharing and future development.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data science and analytics.
  
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python. Good programming skills in at least one other programming language commonly used in AI/ML development, such as R or Java is a plus.
• Good understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques. Experience with time-series forecasting is a plus.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience in software/application development is a plus.
• Experience in Tableau/Power BI/other visualization tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as GCP, Azure.
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn the skills of a data analyst.
