Software Engineer (Python FAST API AWS) Hybrid WFH to £70k
Are you a bright, ambitious Software Engineer who enjoys working on complex systems with a range of programming languages? You could be progressing your career at a Tech for Good start-up technology company that has recently received £70 million in funding and has secure government backing.
As a Software Engineer you'll design, develop and maintain the core platform, continually seeking improvements and optimisation. You'll focus on backend functionality using Python and FAST APIs within a cloud (AWS) environment but will also have exposure to Next.js and TypeScript on the front end and NumPy, Pandas for data modelling and visualisation. You'll collaborate closely with the CTO and be supported to progress to a senior role within the business.
The company specialise in retrofits for new and existing properties centred around environmental efficiency, enabling construction companies and home owners alike to meet government energy efficiency targets.
Location / WFH:
You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the Birmingham office once or twice a week.

About You
- You have achieved a 2.1 or above from a top tier university, Computer Science preferred
- You have strong commercial experience within a start-up or SME and have worked across the full development lifecycle
- You have strong backend Python development experience
- You have experience with FAST APIs (will also consider Flask)
- You have a good understanding of AWS, Docker, Terraform, DevOps environments
- You're familiar with TypeScript front end tools such as Next.js, it would also be useful to have an appreciation of data modelling and data visualisation
- You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
