Network Engineer
New Port, Wales, UK(Onsite)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our new network infrastructure project. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, deploying and managing all aspects of our network systems and ensuring high availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation:
- Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
- Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, SDWAN, OOB Network and Wireless Network.
- Configure wireless, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security based on KLA network standard.
- Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
- Perform network deployment, maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
- Troubleshoot network problems and outages, schedule upgrades, and collaborate with network architects on network optimization.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create, update, and maintain network diagrams and documentation.
- Provide network performance statistics and reports.
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS, Wireless, SilverPeak, etc.).
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Familiarity with access control models and network security.
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cacti).
- Strong knowledge of network hardware (Cisco Wired and Wireless devices, SilverPeak, OpenGear ).
- CCNP or higher (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certification is a must.
Desired Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of cloud computing and virtualization technologies (AWS, Azure)
