Senior Software Engineer

Location: Oslo/Europe Remote

Role: Senior Backend Software Engineer - Golang, Python, Docker, Kubernetes &AWS

About the role:

We are pleased to be building a team working on an industry-standard IoT product, facilitating over-the-air updates for heavy-connected devices for customers including Nike, Airbus, Siemens and so many more

As part of building our team, we are looking for a software engineer to help scale and develop backend services. You'll work on cutting-edge technology, tackling complex IoT device management and cloud infrastructure challenges.

• Set up for remote-first working. This means that we can consider candidates located anywhere in Europe.
• Quarterly holiday-style get-together trips with all remote workers.
• Genuine market leader in the IoT OTA update service.
• Engineering team of 25, 7 in the backend team. with 15 based in Norway
• Commercial branch in San Francisco.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and develop: Build and maintain scalable backend services for the IoT OTA Server.
• Enhance platform scalability: Enhance SaaS infrastructure to support millions of devices.
• Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Automate: Enhance our CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Ensure quality: Write tests, debug issues, and maintain robust code.

Required skills and experience:

• Experience: 5+ years in professional backend development.
• Languages: Proficient in any backend programming language (preferably Go and Python).
• Backend technologies: Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and message brokers.
• Databases: Skilled with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Cloud and infrastructure: Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
• CI/CD: Knowledge of automated testing and deployment pipelines.
• Security focus: Commitment to security best practices.
• Agile practices: Comfortable with agile methodologies.
• Communication: Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
