Business Data Analyst

Position Title- Business Analyst-AI/ML

Location- Calgary, AB

Job Summary –

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analysis Business Analyst with a solid background in open source technologies, particularly JAVA and JavaScript (JS). The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between data analysis and technology, utilizing their expertise to translate business needs into actionable insights and technical solutions. This role requires both strong analytical abilities and technical acumen in open source development frameworks.

Years of experience needed – 6-10 year.

Technical Skills:

• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Conduct comprehensive data analysis to glean actionable business insights.
• Develop and maintain BI (Business Intelligence) reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Use statistical tools to interpret complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
• Requirements Gathering:
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and project scopes.
• Maintain clear and effective communication channels between business units and the IT team.
• Open Source Technology Integration:
• Leverage open source technologies such as JAVA and JavaScript to develop and customize applications.
• Collaborate with the development team to ensure integration of data solutions into existing systems.
• Assist in the maintenance and improvement of existing software solutions using open source tools.

Project Management:

• Plan, execute, and oversee data-related projects from inception to completion.
• Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure stakeholder buy-in and project alignment.
• Data Quality and Governance:
• Implement and maintain data governance policies to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Monitor and audit data to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Advocate for best practices in data management and usage across the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a strong focus on data analysis.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
• Solid understanding of JAVA and JavaScript for application development and customization.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with open source technologies and frameworks.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with additional programming languages and open source tools (e.g., Python, R, Angular, React).
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Understanding of agile project management principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).​
