Day to Day:

Our client is seeking a skilled Network Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role requires a proactive individual with expertise in network infrastructure, Cisco IOS, multi-vendor environments, firewall administration, and more. The ideal candidate will thrive in both team-oriented and independent settings, possess excellent communication skills, and be comfortable working in a desk-based role for extended periods.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and commission Network Architecture to meet operational requirements and ensure scalability.
  • Perform network wiring, cabling, and meticulous labeling to maintain organization and facilitate efficient troubleshooting.
  • Configure network equipment, ensuring optimal performance of layer 2 and layer 3 protocols across the infrastructure.
  • Implement firewall policies, establish P2P links, VPN tunnels, and other security measures to safeguard network integrity.
  • Configure wireless access points, calibrate antennas, and optimize coverage for seamless connectivity.
  • Create comprehensive systems documentation and network diagrams to facilitate effective maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex network issues promptly and effectively.
  • Flexibility to undertake other IT and networking responsibilities as assigned.
  • Provide coverage for fellow team members during rare PTO days to ensure uninterrupted support and operations.


Must Haves:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • At least 3 year(s) of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Minimum CCNA certification required; CCNP preferred.
  • Multi-vendor environment configuration and troubleshooting experience: Siemens, Juniper, Brocade, ITS Express, IS5, Advantech, Teleste…
  • Familiar with wireless environments and configuration.
  • Advanced Firewall Administration skills: FortiOS.
  • Network Monitoring Software: i.e. Solarwinds NPM, NCM.
  • Scripting for device configuration, python, bash or similar.
  • Fiber Optics Network: ability to read splicing diagrams and experience with OTDR Test and results.
  • CompTIA Security+, Network+, A+, Linux+, and Project+.
  • Proven experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS and multi-vendor environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced Firewall Administration (FortiOS), wireless networking, and network monitoring.
  • Proficiency in scripting for device configuration and familiarity with Fiber Optics Network technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in resolving complex network issues
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
