Software Engineer - C#/.NET

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in C# and .NET technologies, with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles. You will be responsible for transforming user stories into high-quality code, driving tasks to completion, and ensuring robust testing practices are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

7+ years in developing and maintaining high-quality software applications using C# and .NET frameworks.

Apply object-oriented programming principles and design patterns to create scalable and maintainable code.

Write and execute meaningful automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.

Own assigned tasks, driving them to completion within agreed timelines.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Must Have Qualifications:

Proficiency in C# and .NET development.

Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design.

Proven ability to write meaningful, low-maintenance automated tests.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a capability to translate user stories into functional code.

Demonstrated ownership of tasks and a proactive approach to driving projects forward.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

Experience in Greenfield projects with incomplete specifications.

Familiarity with Entity Framework ORM.

Understanding of microservices architecture, principles, and associated challenges.

Experience designing, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIs.

Knowledge of messaging middleware products such as RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS/SNS, or Kafka, and familiarity with event-driven systems.

Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
