About the Role:

TechHeads is proud to partner with a forward-thinking client in the Drone Delivery Space to find an exceptional Principal Software Engineer. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead critical projects that drive the future of drone-enabled transportation. As a hands-on leader, you’ll develop scalable, high-performance systems, tackle complex technical challenges, and mentor a team of developers—all while shaping the foundation of next-generation transport management technology.

What You’ll Do:

• Architect & Build: Design and scale microservice applications that enhance vehicle routing, fleet management, and predictive maintenance.
• Data-Driven Leadership: Work with SQL, NoSQL, and streaming databases. Lead the creation of data lakes, warehouses, and advanced business intelligence systems.
• End-to-End Development: Own feature lifecycles from design to deployment, including vehicle routing optimisation, advanced resource scheduling, and compliance management.
• Innovate the Future: Help design and implement a Network Operating Centre and digital twin infrastructure to support advanced operational insights.
• Mentor & Inspire: Lead a team of developers, introduce AI-driven tools, improve development processes, and foster a culture of continuous innovation.

What You Bring:

• Technical Expertise: Strong programming skills in Go (primary language) with experience in React and JavaScript. Familiarity with Ruby on Rails is a bonus.
• Tools & Systems: Hands-on experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Kafka, and Docker.
• Architectural Excellence: Proven ability to design scalable, modular system architectures and solve complex algorithmic challenges.

Tech Stack:

• Go, React, JavaScript. MongoDB, Prometheus, PostgreSQL. Kafka (or similar), GitHub
• Ruby on Rails - a plus not a requirement.
