Position: Cisco Firewall Engineer

Location: REMOTE - preferably in Belgium, Switzerland, or Ireland

Contract through end of year, possibility of extensions!

Must-haves

• Strong experience with 2 types of firewalls - Cisco ASA and FTD firewalls (experience with cisco iOS code/command lines – to be able to run packet tracer or simulate something/troubleshooting)
• Some experience with Jira
• Experience with firewall lockdowns/remediations
• Strong understanding TCP/IP Networking

Plusses:

• Experience mapping out application communication(s) and dataflows
• Process documentation – process flows – Microsoft Visio (big plus)
• Agile/Scrum background
• Experience with SQL
• Life Science background

Day to Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Firewall Engineer to join their growing team within MLL. They have built an Internal tool to lock down the firewalls – put in a rule through the firewall – monitor the traffic through that rule and then capture the logs, do some stuff in SQL on their SQL server and then see the traffic and evaluate the communications/traffic and work with IRSM (information security risk management) (Ex: we see this application communicating here – is this correct traffic) if the answer is yes they create an application specific firewall rule for that. If its no – they leave it outside the rule set and once lockdown happens they will get denied that way. He/she will be responsible for analyzing those firewall logs and look at communications on the firewall. The day of the lockdown the business performs UAT testing – if somethings not working with the app – need to be able to understand what port was missed. Below is a breakdown of the firewall remediation process and what they will be following.
