DevOps Engineer

This is an opportunity to join a leading consultancy who are looking to recruit an automation specialist on a 12 Month Contract.

As a DevOps/Infra as code Engineer the ideal candidate will eat, sleep, think and work in code. As an experienced engineer, you know what it takes to transform existing infra setup towards infra-as-code for on-premise and or AWS, Azure or GCP environments. You are the one that warns others that “lift and shift” is NOT the solution or a valuable migration strategy. (unless your DC shuts down quite soon)

You must go to the office once a month in Utrecht for a Social team bonding.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage automated infrastructure for on-premise and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Develop reusable IaC templates that ensure scalability, security, and compliance for various client projects.
• Lead system migrations to modern cloud environments, advocating for optimized transitions over "lift-and-shift" approaches.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security practices into cloud infrastructure templates, aligning with industry standards.
• Design secure, compliant landing zones for hybrid cloud environments, focusing on stability and ease of use for DevOps and feature teams.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in deploying infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, CDM, Pulumi).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, SaltStack) for automating infrastructure provisioning.
• Strong hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Ability to design scalable, highly available containerized solutions across multiple cloud environments.
