Senior Network Engineer
Client: Top 5 Bank
Duration: 12 Month Contract (Opportunity to Extend/Convert)
Hours: 37.5 Hours
Location: Hybrid 1x/Week ( Downtown, Toronto)
Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with a strong working knowledge of Basic DNS and SMTP.
- Understanding of DNS hierarchy, domain registration, domain hosting, MX records, and expertise in identifying and mitigating phishing email threats.
- Experience with Domain Security (5+years generating and managing SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records)
- Collaboration and Communication Skill 5+ working with cross functional teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an updated record of all external domains (2266) owned by the financial institution.
- Ensure proper hosting of domains on official registrars such as CSC and Akamai.
- Collaborate with different Lines of Business (LOBs) through the Project Management (PM) team to obtain approvals for securing domains.
- Generate SPF and DMARC records for approved domains and submit them to the Domain Management (DM) team, following established change processes.
- Validate and add updated records to security monitoring tools, such as Agari, ensuring accurate and timely implementation.
- Work closely with the PM team to initiate change requests, providing necessary attachments, domain lists, and records (minimum 2 per week).
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of approvals, change requests, and communication with LOBs for audit purposes.
Preferred Skills:
- In-depth understanding of how SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records contribute to securing email communication.
- Ability to explain and educate team members on DNS concepts, domain security, and the potential risks associated with phishing emails.
- Familiarity with email security tools and technologies.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with LOBs, PM teams, and other stakeholders.
- Proven experience in handling domain security tasks within a financial institution or similar regulated environment.
