Objective

To provide expert advice on UI/UX trends specific to a forward-thinking e-learning platform for schools (LMS), and mobile applications for Android and iOS, and ensure the design and user experience meet high-quality standards during the development lifecycle. The aim is for the platform to meet the current needs of students, educators, and administrators and to be scalable, flexible, and aligned with the evolving educational landscape over the next five years. The LMS should integrate cutting-edge UI/UX practices, harness emerging technologies, and remain adaptable to future educational trends.


The position is open to candidates based in both the UK and the US.


Responsibilities

1. Advisory

  1. Advise on modern UI/UX trends in e-learning platforms.
  2. Deliver a presentation about these trends.
  3. Compare to competitors’ best practices in e-learning interfaces.
  4. Advise on user-centric design principles to enhance engagement and usability.
  5. Provide insights into accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2 compliance).


2. Design Review and Feedback

  1. Review wireframes, prototypes, and final designs for adherence to best practices.
  2. Evaluate the alignment of designs with user personas, user journeys, and project goals.
  3. Suggest improvements to UI components, navigation flows, and interaction designs.


3. Quality Assurance (QA)

  1. Conduct usability testing to identify and address potential pain points.
  2. Ensure the software meets aesthetic and functional design expectations.
  3. Test for responsiveness and cross-platform consistency (mobile, desktop, etc.).
  4. Validate that the design aligns with branding guidelines and project objectives.


4. Collaboration with Teams

  1. Provide clear, actionable feedback to the development team (developers, product managers, and other stakeholders) to guide effective implementation.
  2. Facilitate workshops or brainstorming sessions to align teams on user-centric solutions if needed.


5. Documentation and Reporting

  1. Create detailed reports on UI/UX assessments and usability test results.
  2. Prepare a final evaluation report assessing the overall UI/UX quality and suggesting future enhancements.


Deliverables

  1. Report on UI/UX trends in E-learning.
  2. Feedback and Recommendations on Prototypes and Mock-ups.
  3. Usability Testing Reports and Improvement Plans.
  4. Final Quality Assurance Report on UI/UX Standards and Compliance.


Skills and Qualifications

  1. Proven experience (not less than 3 years) in UI/UX design, preferably in the e-learning domain.
  2. Proficiency in usability testing tools.
  3. Strong understanding of accessibility and responsive design principles.
  4. Excellent communication skills for presenting and documenting findings.
  5. Up-to-date knowledge of trends and technologies in the UI/UX industry
