Looking for either a Senior or Mid-level backend PHP/Laravel engineer with good experience across scalable software. Ideally from a product / Start-up background and working in high paced environments.

Can be located in VIC, NSW, QLD and flex to work fully remote only in Australia.

The company's platform is built on a robust technology stack, including cloud-based infrastructure, data pipelines, and machine learning algorithms. The new project will be building new features on some of the extensions dealing with global tech giants (Google, Meta, Youtube and more).

About the Role:

• I'm looking for multiple backend engineers either (Senior OR Mid) who have in depth experience with backend programming from planning, designing, developing, testing and deployment.
• Heavily involved in Laravel development.
• Strong with scalable software.
• Good experience with fast paced environments.
• Unit Testing on PHPunit or Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Working on high-performance platform, enhancements, extensions, API's and adding on new customised features.
• SOLID Principals. Design patterns and OOP (Object orientated programming)
• Create new ideas and bring them to the table!
• You’ll be working on heavy backend development and be given the opportunity to work on the latest frameworks and rolling out the deployment to live production.

Key Requirements

• Ideally 8 years exp or more in the industry focusing on backend software architecture.
• Experience with PHP 8.x (Need at least 7+ years exp in PHP)
• Experience with Laravel 9.x - 11.x (Need at least 5+ years exp)
• SOLID Principals & Design Patterns (important)
• Docker
• MySQL
• Event Driven Architecture (bonus but not required)
• (AWS) Amazon Web Services
• Relevant qualifications in Software Engineering/Development
• Understanding and knowledge of unit tests and functional tests
• Understanding of modern software design practices
• Solid technical skills, both functional and non-functional, manual and automation, ideally in a continuous delivery environment.
• Experience in writing SQL queries

Bonus if you're experienced in IaC (Infrastructure as code - Terraform, Kubernetes, cloudformation).
