Back-End Developer (Java)

We currently have a vacancy for a Back-End Developer (Java) fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company's premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client's IT team on site.

Your tasks:

• Development of back-end website applications;
• Writing clean, functional code for the back-end and possibly front-end applications;
• Implement core business logic;
• Creation of servers and databases for functionality;
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection;
• Cross-platform optimization;
• Design responsive applications and design and develop APIs;
• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement;
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.

• University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 15 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Experience in Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, Java EE and Hibernate;
• Experience in SSO, OpenID Connect integration;
• Experience in Cloud development with Amazon web services;
• Experience with REST APIs and SOAP services and tools for web services testing (SOAPUI, ReadyAPI, Postman);
• Experience in Kafka and JMS and ActiveMQ;
• Experience in Oracle DB;
• Knowledge of API GW configuration with OAuth 2, SSL/TLS Protocol configuration in application servers and reverse proxy configuration;
• Knowledge of Oracle WebLogic Server, Apache;
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo) and of development, building and deployment of micro services;
• Knowledge of Java application server WebLogic covering configuring domains, deploying and running applications on these servers;
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker), familiarity with Kubernetes would be considered an advantage;
• Knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git;
• Knowledge of front-end languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Angular would be considered an advantage;
• Familiarity with NoSQL would be considered an advantage;
• Excellent command of the English language and good understanding of French would be considered an advantage.
