Java Software Engineer

About the Role:

We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Java Developer to join a leading mobility business in Hamburg. You will play a key role in a greenfield migration project whilst maintaining their core platform, contributing to the design and implementation of new features, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of our systems. This is a great opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects that are shaping the future of mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Java applications.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of our backend systems.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver new features and improvements.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving our development processes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in Java development and the mobility industry.
• Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• 2-4 years of professional experience in Java development, with a focus on Java EE and Spring Framework.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and SQL.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Fluency in German and English.
