Quantitative Risk Analyst Wanted

Our client is a fast-growing startup headquartered in Amsterdam. With backing from prominent high-frequency trading firms, they are building a groundbreaking platform to trade derivatives and financial products based on cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Their goal is to become the trusted platform for crypto financial products, comparable to leading stock exchanges.

As the Quantitative Risk Analyst, you will be the first in this position and will work closely with the Risk Manager to focus on hands-on, quantitative research and analysis. You will evaluate financial products, assess market risks, and support strategic decisions to drive the company’s success.

Since you’re the first in this position; seniority is expected while you will be able to initiate your own projects and have major impact on the business. Besides that, over time when the company grows; you will be able to build your own team.

What you’ll do:

• Conduct quantitative risk analysis for financial products, particularly derivatives (options, futures, etc.).
• Research risks associated with new products, partners, and markets.
• Evaluate and analyze existing financial products in the market for insights on performance and potential risks.
• Build and work with datasets, writing Python or SQL scripts as needed.
• Communicate findings effectively to business stakeholders in a clear, data-driven manner.

What You Bring:

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in risk analysis, preferably 10+, with strong expertise in financial markets and trading.
• Knowledge: A solid understanding of derivatives, financial products, and risk evaluation methodologies.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL (C++ is a plus).
• Industry Background: Experience in asset management, trading firms, or investment companies is highly desirable.
• Education: A master’s degree in a STEM-related field (economics, mathematics, finance, etc.) is preferred.
