Back End Developer

ABOUT US:

At Sportradar we’ve experienced a wonderful period of sustained hypergrowth through a highly focused strategy based upon industry leading product innovation. To continue on this trajectory, we are looking to expand our development team that are working on interfaces to service sport’s governing bodies with the addition of an Engineer within the Python skillset.

You will be a key member of our team, fostering a strong culture of collaboration, software development lifecycles and testing practices. We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing and supporting high quality software solutions.

You will work within an Agile team who are passionate about technology and constantly looking to innovate.

THE CHALLENGE:

• Creating flexible systems that work across a variety of sports.
• Maintaining existing partner applications.
• Demonstrating attention to detail whilst implementing technical specifications.
• Take ownership in shaping and delivering key features and products.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code, increasing unit test coverage and confidence.
• Lead the development of software services optimized for deployment into AWS.
• Collaborate with and become integral to a cross-functional team of Product, Design, Engineering, and System Administration.
• Work in a modern, collaborative development environment using DevOps and agile principles.

ABOUT YOU:

• Masters or Bachelor degree in software development or other relevant area (or relevant experience).
• Provable experience in leading a team of developers to create a high quality user experience.
• 3-5 years of professional experience of software development using Python.
• Strong MySQL & PostgreSQL knowledge.
• Strong experience working with AWS key services (for example: API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Aurora, S3 & Caching).
• Curiosity and awareness of the latest technologies.
• A can-do attitude / self-motivated with strong team working skills.
• Experience with building systems that have significant integrations with 3rd parties, both data coming in and data going out.
• Must be comfortable with modern software development methodologies such as agile development, git, CI/CD, code reviews etc.

Bonus Superpowers:

• Experience in how sport runs and operates (either as a fan, participant or an administrator).
• MongoDB or other NoSQL technology.
• Experience with PHP.
• Comfortable with infrastructure as code.
• Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies.
• Performance profiling and tuning high throughput applications.
