Job Description

  • We are looking for an experienced software engineer to contribute to our mission of advancing traffic law enforcement through cutting-edge technology. By utilizing a city’s existing fleet and mobile devices, our goal is to collect real-time data and apply it to enforce traffic laws, supporting the city’s Vision Zero safety goals.
  • The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling services within a robust service architecture, collaborating with machine learning engineers, and utilizing modern tools and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop scalable services within the service architecture.
  • Work with machine learning engineers to scale model deployments effectively.
  • Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and fault-tolerant code using Python and Golang.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, build consensus, and develop technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Vision, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of industry experience.
  • Solid understanding of best practices in networking, security, distributed compute, storage, observability, and continuous deployment.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
  • Ability to assess and make decisions on build vs. buy solutions.
