Gelato Technology

We own no physical production assets, nor servers, instead our asset is a cloud based connectivity platform that enables world-class on-demand production for e-commerce platforms and applications. This engineered platform needs to provide our customers access to more than 130 production partners in 32 countries and includes production plate design, routing to an appropriate partner, finally linking to logistics’ systems for delivery to the consumer. All this in 72 hours and reaching more than 5 billion people and potential consumers in a smarter, faster, and greener way.

The employed technologies range from backends using PHP and GoLang to mobile apps built natively or with hybrid technology, running on cloud services and with a modern CI/CD pipeline. Designing highly-available, fault-tolerant, cost-effective, scalable systems is our passion. We are using TDD, BDD, DDD principles and patterns, and agile methodology. Designing public API for millions of people, integrating with world-class third-party systems, and solving complex engineering problems (Graph, CAP, etc) are only a small glimpse into the tasks.

About The Position

What you will do

• Innovate and Strategize: Design and implement strategic initiatives that propel Gelato's infrastructure forward, ensuring alignment with our rapid growth and innovation objectives.
• Automate Everything: Be an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) champion, driving automation to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Champion Reliability and Efficiency: Optimize our cloud infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate for Success: Partner with Engineering to craft resilient cloud applications. Automate deployments, implement robust monitoring and alerting, and solidify our DevOps practices through IaC.
• Embrace Availability: Contribute to our culture of continuous availability by participating in the on-call rotation, demonstrating your commitment to platform excellence.
• Harness the Power of AI: Explore the use of AI to modernize our cloud production platform, unlocking new levels of insight and automation.
• Optimize Through FinOps: Promote a FinOps mindset, ensuring we make conscious, data-driven decisions to optimize cloud costs.

Who you are

• Education & Experience: You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, backed by at least 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps.
• Cloud Mastery: You possess deep expertise in major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a thorough understanding of cloud best practices. You're passionate about building scalable and efficient SaaS platforms.
• DevOps Toolset: You have proven expertise in essential cloud DevOps automation tools like Kubernetes (K8s), Terraform, and Helm. Your experience drives seamless CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and containerization for our SaaS environment.
• Technical Fluency: You have working knowledge of programming languages like Python and Go, as well as modern platform development and infrastructure automation.
• Problem-Solving & Collaboration: You are an exceptional problem solver, able to navigate complex challenges in fast-paced environments. Collaboration is key to your success as you work to deliver high-quality SaaS products within our production platform.
