Head of Data & AI

The Head of Data & AI is responsible for leading the organization’s data strategy, analytics, data science, and engineering functions. This role focuses on leveraging data to drive insights, innovation, and business objectives while enhancing customer experiences. The position involves managing a team of data professionals and implementing cutting-edge AI solutions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• AI and Data Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive AI and data strategy aligned with organizational goals, ensuring data serves as a strategic asset.
• Data Governance: Establish and manage frameworks for data quality, integrity, and security across the organization.
• Analytics Leadership: Drive the development of advanced analytics capabilities to support data-driven decision-making and provide actionable business insights.
• Innovation: Lead the creation of an Identity Verification (IDV) solution using Large Language Models (LLMs) and state-of-the-art AI technologies.
• Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing data team while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Technology Advancement: Identify and implement cutting-edge AI and data tools to enhance data processing, storage, and analytics capabilities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across product, engineering, marketing, and finance to integrate data solutions and deliver business value.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to data protection regulations, including UAE/KSA PDPL, GDPR, and CCPA, maintaining data privacy and security standards.
• Performance Monitoring: Define and track KPIs to evaluate the success of data initiatives and present results to senior leadership.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in AI, data management, or analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in FinTech or similar data-driven industries.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and privacy regulations.
• Expertise in advanced AI technologies, including:
• Machine Learning and Deep Learning
• Neural Networks (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers)
• Natural Language Processing (NLP), including BERT, GPT, and other models
• Sentiment analysis, Named Entity Recognition (NER)
• Computer Vision (image recognition, object detection, facial recognition)
• Reinforcement Learning and Generative AI (GANs, VAEs)
• Predictive Analytics and Evolutionary Algorithms
• Expert Systems and Knowledge Graphs
• Robotics and Autonomous Systems
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate complex data concepts as actionable insights.
• Advanced knowledge of security constructs in finance and payment systems.
• Proactive problem-solving and attention to detail.
