The Opportunity
My client is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect to join their rapidly growing Technology Consulting team. This role offers the opportunity to work client-side and client-facing, leading security architecture reviews and shaping enterprise security strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead security architecture and design reviews across complex projects.
- Define security requirements, implement and test security systems, and develop security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Advise on cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities while leveraging frameworks such as SABSA and TOGAF.
- Ensure compliance with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and NISD.
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments, applying methodologies such as STRIDE, Cyber Kill Chain, and exposure analysis.
- Stay up to date with evolving security threats and emerging cybersecurity solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring teams and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple client sites.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 7+ years' experience in cybersecurity technical roles, advising on security controls and risk mitigation strategies.
- Expertise in cloud security (Azure, AWS, Hybrid Cloud) and network security.
- Strong knowledge of security engineering, solution architecture, and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills, with the ability to communicate complex security concepts effectively.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, WAFs, firewalls, and infrastructure security.
Desirable:
- Consultancy experience in the Irish market.
- Government, transport, or financial sector experience.
- Programming/scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, .NET).
- Knowledge of CI/CD security principles and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience leading teams and managing large-scale cybersecurity projects.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Relevant industry certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF, AZ-500, AWS Security, or SANS certifications.
