Network Engineer

Overview:

My client are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer with a background in Zscaler technologies to join a growing team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable network infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in managing Zscaler solutions and ensuring optimal network performance across my client's organisation.

There will be some travel monthly to the Milan based office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage Zscaler solutions (Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)) for secure cloud-based access.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network and security infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute network security policies and procedures using Zscaler’s cloud-native security platform.
• Monitor network traffic, performance, and security threats, leveraging Zscaler analytics to identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate Zscaler solutions with existing network architecture.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, guidelines, and best practices for both cloud and on-premise network environments.
• Conduct network capacity planning, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in collaboration with the wider IT team.
• Document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures for internal teams.
• Provide support and guidance to other teams and users in relation to network access and security queries.
• Stay up to date with new features and enhancements in Zscaler and broader network technologies, recommending improvements where applicable.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with a strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewalls.
• Hands-on experience with Zscaler solutions, particularly ZIA and ZPA.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking and security, including SSL inspection, DNS, and identity management systems.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies and how they integrate with Zscaler.
• Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting tools, and performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of network security best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex network issues.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and incident management.
• CCNA, CCNP, or other relevant networking certifications are a plus.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
