We are an ambitious new studio with a passionate team of game developers working on exciting new Virtual Reality (VR) games. Our project combines immersive VR gameplay with engaging multiplayer mechanics, and we’re looking for talented individuals to join us on this journey. The Role:
We are seeking experienced VR Game Developers to join our team. This is a contract-based position with revenue sharing after the game’s release. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unity development, VR, and multiplayer systems. You will collaborate with a diverse team of 3D artists, technical artists, programmers, producers, and game designers to help bring the vision to life.
Team Roles We’re looking For:
- 3D Artists: Create stunning, optimized 3D assets for VR environments and characters.
- Technical Artists: Bridge the gap between art and programming, ensuring assets are VR-ready and performant.
- Programmers: Develop core gameplay systems, multiplayer functionality, and VR interactions.
- Producers: Help manage the project timeline, team coordination, and potential crowdfunding efforts.
- Game Designers: Craft engaging gameplay mechanics, levels, and player experiences tailored for VR.
- Sound Designer/Composer: Create and integrate audio/music using middleware into Unity.
Key Responsibilities (Role-Specific):
3D Artists:
- Create high-quality, optimized 3D models, textures, LODs, and environments for VR.
- Collaborate with technical artists and developers to ensure assets are VR-ready and performant.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback from the team and playtesting.
- Maintain a consistent art style that aligns with the game’s vision.
- Optimize assets for performance without sacrificing visual quality.
Technical Artists:
- Develop and maintain art pipelines for efficient asset creation and integration.
- Create shaders, materials, and visual effects that enhance the VR experience.
- Collaborate with 3D artists and programmers to ensure assets are optimized for VR performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to art and rendering.
- Implement tools and workflows to streamline the art production process.
Programmers:
- Develop and implement VR gameplay mechanics, interactions, and systems in Unity.
- Design and optimize multiplayer networking solutions for seamless online play.
- Debug and optimize performance for VR platforms, ensuring smooth and responsive gameplay.
- Collaborate with designers and artists to integrate gameplay features and assets.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Producers:
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure the game stays on track.
- Coordinate communication and workflows between team members.
- Help plan and execute a potential Kickstarter campaign or other funding efforts.
- Identify and mitigate risks to the project’s success.
- Organize playtesting sessions and gather feedback to inform development decisions.
Game Designers:
- Design engaging and immersive gameplay mechanics tailored for VR.
- Create level layouts, puzzles, and challenges that leverage VR’s unique capabilities.
- Collaborate with artists and programmers to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with the game’s vision.
- Iterate on designs based on playtesting feedback and team input.
- Document design ideas and systems clearly for the team to implement.
Sound Designers/Composers:
- Design immersive soundscapes and audio effects tailored for VR, enhancing player presence and engagement.
- Create spatial audio that leverages VR’s unique capabilities to deepen immersion.
- Compose original music that complements the game’s atmosphere, tone, and narrative.
- Collaborate with developers and designers to ensure audio aligns with gameplay and storytelling.
- Iterate on audio based on playtesting feedback and technical requirements.
- Document and organize audio assets for clear implementation by the team.
