Platform Engineer - Cloud

Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to design, deploy, and maintain robust cloud-based infrastructure primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role involves enhancing platform efficiency through automation, ensuring security best practices, and staying ahead with the latest technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure across GCP platforms.
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and maintenance tasks for the api platform.
• Prioritize security across all infrastructure and platform activities.
• Continuously improve platform capabilities by incorporating emerging tools and industry trends.
• Work with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines in alignment with DevOps practices.
• Automate processes using Python and other programming languages.
• Utilize APIs and scripting to streamline operations.
• Configure and maintain monitoring and logging tools effectively.
• Ensure compatibility and performance across various operating systems.
• Configure networks with a focus on reliability, security, and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, application, and networking issues.

Technical Expertise Required:

• Hands-on experience with Terraform for managing infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python and Golang.
• Advanced knowledge of Shell/Bash scripting.
• Mastery of containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker, Kubernetes (GKE, OpenShift), and Istio for service mesh and routing.
• Proficient in SQL and familiar with DBT for data transformation.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, such as static analysis, vulnerability scanning, and secrets management.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools.

Cloud and Tools Experience:

• Cloud Platforms: GCP services
• Tooling and Frameworks:
• Version control with GitHub
• Artifact management via Artifactory
• CI/CD pipelines with Codefresh
• Kubernetes management with Helm or Kustomize
• Container security tools like Twistlock
• Application security tools such as Checkmarx and Black Duck
• Configuration management through Ansible
• OpenShift for container orchestration

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are highly valued.
