JOB DESCRIPTION

As a DevOps Engineer, your primary role is to collaborate with software engineers, system operators, and other IT professionals to manage code releases and optimize cloud infrastructure within a suite of software applications, primarily hosted in Microsoft Azure.

You will help bridge the gap between software development, testing, and operations teams, assisting with Azure-based systems integration, cloud database management, and the management of critical applications in the Azure ecosystem.

In this role, you will need to quickly adapt to evolving business needs, including shifting goals, new technology implementations, and emerging cloud-based solutions. You will be expected to engage, develop, and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring the smooth operation of cloud infrastructure and software pipelines. A core part of your responsibilities will be to automate and streamline our clients’ software suites on Azure, working on the specification and documentation of new features and ensuring the continuous operation of critical Azure-based applications.

The successful Azure DevOps Engineer will combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating deep knowledge of cloud platforms, operating systems, applications, and software, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve application issues. A solid background in Azure DevOps and cloud-based technologies is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code.
• Collaborate with software development and operations teams to ensure efficient and reliable software releases.
• Create and maintain documentation for systems and processes.
• Performs standard database maintenance and administration tasks.
• Monitors, measures, and reports on infrastructure load, performance, and security events. Identifies operational issues and contributes to their resolution.
• Carries out agreed operational procedures, including backup/restore, using supplied infrastructure tools and scripts.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
• Good knowledge of automation tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI/CD
• Good knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Azure or GCP.
• Good knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, AWS CDK.
• Good knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Good scripting skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Good knowledge of networking, and Linux/Windows administration. Good knowledge of database maintenance and administration such as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL
• Good knowledge of monitoring tools such as Kibana, Zabbix, CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
