Machine Learning Engineer, Intern, ML Observability

Our CX performance platform uses machine learning across both voice and digital engagement channels to augment and automate human work, radically increasing productivity and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of customer experience teams.

ASAPP’s ML Observability team (part of AI Engineering group) is seeking enterprising, talented and curious interns. This role will help us build, enhance and maintain observability capabilities and be part of the team which takes care of all our ML services in production that form the core of our platform.

The ML Observability team is responsible for working with our Modeling/Research/ML Ops/Delivery/data teams to adapt cutting edge technologies to product needs, training & retraining, evaluating and deploying relevant models as well as working to optimize model and server architectures so that we can scale our ML services to meet the needs of our customers.

This role will focus on building and maintaining ML pipelines for our customers, as well as creating exciting new AI/ML/NLP features in our products. Over time, you will have opportunities to learn about and contribute to other aspects of our ML platform as well.

What you'll do

• Build & maintain observability capabilities for all our ML products and services
• Work with our Modeling/Research/ML Ops/Delivery/data teams to onboard, enhance and maintain ML models & pipelines in production
• Desire to Develop python-based services with APIs that meet product needs and can serve models at scale
• Work with our Platform, SRE and Data Infrastructure teams to architect systems
• Follow advancements in AI and ML, and actively participate in discussions about them with the ML and research teams
  
  

What you'll need

• Strong Python programming skills, with experience building torch-based models, use of pandas, numpy, sklearn and other frameworks commonly used for ML/NLP/DS
• ML & NLP background, with deep knowledge of model architectures, prompt engineering and techniques like distillation and fine tuning
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a field of science, technology, engineering or math, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Desire to learn new things, work closely with peers from different teams, and open to teach and learn from others
• Passion for Machine Learning and solving problems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
  
  

What We Would Like To See

• Knowledge of additional languages such as SQL, Go, Javascript, or Typescript are not necessary but will help you work in cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of latest advancements in ML including LLMs used in NLP applications
