Senior Data Scientist (m/f/d)

Are you enthusiastic about language-oriented generative AI and natural language processing and would you like to help shape a modern ML architecture? In our 9-person Data Science Processes & Digitization team, we develop intelligent decision-making logic for a wide range of business areas in our financial services portfolio by integrating AI and ML pipelines into our productive processes. To support our Customer Care, we take care of all communication channels – from emails, letters up to our call center.

These exciting tasks await you:

  • You create models based on communication data for classifying content, extracting details and clustering to optimize our services and communication processes
  • You will be involved in the conception from the idea to prototypes to production maturity - in a cross-functional team with our technical and architectural experts.
  • You use a wide variety of current tools and methods from ML frameworks, especially from the RAG, LLM, NLP area, and work on modern technology stacks from Azure and databricks to Docker and Kubernetes
  • You develop complex data flows with structured and unstructured data in the hybrid cloud environment
  • Be part of the large Bertelsmann AI & Analytics community and exchange ideas with your colleagues about current trends and challenges


What you bring to the table:

  • You are enthusiastic about approaching language analytically and applying the latest AI services and NLP methods profitably
  • You have a degree in a technical or quantitative field, e.g. computer science, computational linguistics, data science or another relevant field with a technical/quantitative focus
  • You have at least 1-2 years of relevant professional experience
  • You are proficient in the Python programming language
  • You have knowledge of the machine learning environment, background knowledge of language models and ideally already have some practical experience with Gen AI or RAG technologies
  • You enjoy working with data, are happy to learn new things and appreciate working in a team
  • Very good German language skills are an advantage, as we have many application contexts in German-speaking countries Very good English skills are important so that you can communicate well in our international team
