We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with 8-10 years of experience in IT software consultancy roles, with a strong focus on healthcare and the UK public sector. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working under the Government Digital Service (GDS) framework and successfully taking products through GDS service assessments.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Development

  • Define and execute product vision, strategy, and roadmap for healthcare IT solutions in the UK public sector.
  • Work closely with our healthcare customer, government agencies, and healthcare providers to understand regulatory, clinical, and operational needs.
  • Ensure all digital services comply with GDS principles, including the Digital Service Standard and Technology Code of Practice.
  • Lead the full product lifecycle, from concept to launch and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

  • Collaborate with clients, end-users, and industry experts to gather insights and define product requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with senior customer and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure product-market fit.

GDS Framework & Compliance

  • Lead products through GDS service assessments, ensuring they meet service standards at each stage (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live).
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams, including User Researchers, Service Designers, and Business Analysts, to meet our healthcare customer requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to GDS Service Manual, focusing on user needs, accessibility, security, and interoperability.
  • Drive alignment with our healthcare customer, Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), and UK healthcare regulations.

Agile & Cross-Functional Team Leadership

  • Work with UX designers, developers, and data analysts to translate requirements into functional software solutions.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on user feedback, business impact, and compliance needs.
  • Champion Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to ensure timely and effective product delivery.

Performance Measurement & Optimization

  • Define KPIs and success metrics to track product performance and adoption.
  • Use data analytics to drive continuous product enhancements and decision-making.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to refine features and improve user experience.


Key Skills & Experience

  • 8-10 years of experience in IT software consultancy roles, with a strong focus on healthcare and UK public sector projects.
  • Proven experience working within the GDS framework and leading digital services through GDS service assessments.
  • Strong understanding of public healthcare procurement processes, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing software products from ideation to delivery in Agile environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory and operational landscapes.
  • Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, SNOMED CT, and other healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data insights into strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams effectively.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with healthcare bodies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data governance standards in UK healthcare.
  • Certification in SAFe, Scrum, or Product Management methodologies is a plus.
