The Analytics team provides advanced data analytics and data visualisation services for QPS frontline applications to support policing and the community.
We have a position as a Principal BI Analyst. In this role you will be leading a small team and utilising your experience to develop solutions to extract, analyse and visualise complex data to support evidence-based decision making and analysis in the organisation.
The Core Capability Requirements For This Role Are
Qualification - There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications and/or experiences are highly regarded.
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience - A minimum of two plus years of BI/warehouse/reporting experience and advanced SQL skills are required. Familiarity with SQL Server and SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, Power BI, Excel, Agile development, Python/R, Cloud platforms

- Manage a team for the design, development and maintenance of Analytics & BI solutions that support business performance management and strategic decision making.
- Lead projects to successfully implement and deliver Analytics & BI strategy and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain BI frameworks and research new technologies, to ensure information is delivered in a consistent, timely and authoritative manner
- Support and maintain the Analytics/BI technical environment in order that the analytics team can meet the reporting and data analysis needs of the organisation, including tier 3 support
- Proactively engage, liaise, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to translate their needs into methodologically sound outputs, advice and best practice to achieve stakeholder outcomes.
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and skills transfer to team members to enhance the Analytics/BI capability in the organisation
