Job Description

The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to build a pool of qualified candidates for the IT Security Analyst, Monitoring position in support of the High-Risk Travel service.

The IT Security Analyst, Monitoring plays a critical role in safeguarding House of Commons’ travelers by providing expert cybersecurity support and security guidance. This client-facing role involves assisting travelers in person, via email, and over the phone, delivering tailored technical recommendations and security best practices.

You will work closely with Senior IT Security and Physical Security analysts to assess travel-related risks and implement effective security measures. A key responsibility is provisioning, configuring, and maintaining high-risk travel kits, ensuring their secure operation throughout the trip. Additionally, you will act as a direct link between travelers and the Security Operations Center (SOC), enabling real-time monitoring and support.

This position offers hands-on experience with modern security and mobile technologies, ensuring travelers have access to the most advanced cybersecurity protections. Qualifications

Education :

  • University degree in information technology, computer sciences or another related field, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Experiences :

  • Experience in IT Support, system administration or security operations;
  • Experience working with high profile executive clients;
  • Experience providing technical support in person, via email, and over the phone;
  • Strong communication skills in both official languages (English and French);
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams, security analysts, and other key stakeholders;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment requiring quick problem-solving.

Assets :

  • Experience delivering cybersecurity travel training and guidance to clients;
  • Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting iOS and/or Android mobile devices;
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, secure communications, and risk assessment methodologies;
  • Experience delivering cybersecurity travel training and guidance to clients.
