We are seeking a talented and experienced Kubernetes Administrator to play a pivotal role in our expanding team. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the growth of our infrastructure by managing and optimizing our container orchestration system. You’ll be responsible for shaping and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, as well as the supporting DevOps and tooling environments, working closely with a skilled team of engineers and developers. This role will require you to both collaborate in a team environment and take the initiative to work independently on projects.

As part of the infrastructure team, you will ensure that our Kubernetes configurations are efficient, scalable, and aligned with business objectives, while also leading and mentoring junior staff in best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and support multiple Kubernetes clusters to meet business needs.
  • Review and assess service and user requests for cluster modifications, evaluating feasibility, cost, and system compatibility.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction by crafting infrastructure solutions that benefit both internal teams and end-users.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in container orchestration and cloud-native technologies and share key insights with the team.
  • Take ownership of operational support for clusters, troubleshooting and responding to incidents as necessary, even outside regular working hours.

Skills & Experience:

  • Deep, hands-on experience in Kubernetes administration and management.
  • Strong understanding of containerization technologies, particularly Docker.
  • Experience with cluster networking, ingress configurations, and managing complex systems.
  • Knowledge of service meshes (Istio preferred).
  • Proficient problem-solver, capable of devising efficient infrastructure solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, both technical and non-technical.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible, Helm, or similar.
  • Experience with GitOps workflows, particularly Flux CD.
  • Knowledge of logging and telemetry systems, such as Fluent.
  • Proficiency with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EKS, ELBs, and IAM.
  • Strong understanding of distributed system architecture and troubleshooting.

If you're an experienced Kubernetes Administrator ready to drive meaningful change within a growing organization, we would love to hear from you!
