CLIENT: Our client is a growing web3 protocol and AI engineering services and venture studio business.

ROLE: Our client is looking for a Strategic Finance Senior Associate. This individual will help support our client’s financial operations and business strategy. Our client has expertise in developing software to support blockchain and AI implementations. Their venture studio incubates new businesses building decentralized developer infrastructure and AI protocols.

The ideal candidate has experience with financial analysis, planning, and operations, but is also willing to play a supporting role across legal, hr, and other operational areas. Knowledge of the blockchain and AI space is valuable as is experience working in a high tech or software environment. Experience in operations at a fast-paced, high-growth company undertaking roles that require flexibility and high attention to detail is highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in setting company goals and objectives and implement financial strategies and plans to achieve those goals.
• Maintain and enhance the company financial model. Develop forecasting and reporting for the management team.
• Manage cash flows, payroll, expenses, tax, financial risks, and compliance for the company.
• Oversee day to day financial operations for the company including any unforeseen issues or challenges that arise.
• Support and manage our accountants and service providers with data inputs, analysis, and validation.
• Manage service providers including outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, invoicing, legal, IT, devops, and others.
• Support contracting process for customer, grant, vendor, and other agreements.
• Support Engineering Services with operational support, policy / process implementation, and other management needs.
• Support incubated projects in the Venture Studio with formation, business operations, and other needs.
• Communicate regularly and clearly with other team members and also with other customers and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Undergraduate degree required; MBA, CPA or CFA a plus.
• 4-6 years of relevant working experience with 1-2+ years of relevant work experience at one of the following preferred:
• Client-facing role at a major investment bank;
• Client-facing role at a management consulting firm;
• Venture capital / private equity / growth equity;
• Strategic / operational experience at a high-growth technology company.
• Experience working for a startup also a plus.
• Best-in-class Google Sheets / Excel skills and extensive experience developing insightful quantitative analyses, paired with strong critical thinking and sound business judgment.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a roll-up-your-sleeves, “bias for action” attitude.
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to tackle ambiguous problems, find creative solutions, and evaluate opportunities from a business and financial perspective.
• Good writing skills with an ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
• Interest in the AI and web3/blockchain space.
• Strong attention to detail while working well under pressure.
