Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SDE3 & 4 to join the Gen AI team within the Consumer Shopping Experiences organization in Flipkart. The primary focus of this role is to harness the capabilities of large language models (LLMs) and multimodal technology for various business applications. The ideal candidate will be able to solve business problems with a deep knowledge of Gen AI tech and the relevant application domain. This role requires a forward-thinking mindset, rapid iteration skills, and a passion for staying ahead in the ever-evolving Gen AI field.

Responsibilities:

• Foster a culture of rapid experimentation, encouraging team members to iterate quickly and learn from successes and failures.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, other Engineering leads, and Data Science experts to align on priorities and drive cross-functional initiatives.
• Build a deep understanding of the Gen AI landscape, constantly exploring new technologies and methodologies.
• Develop, optimize, and deploy applications using large language models (LLMs) to meet specific business requirements and use cases across various business units and functions.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in Generative AI research and techniques, and establish best practices for effectively leveraging Gen AI.
• Develop deep understanding of the relevant application domain and rapidly iterate on experiments.
• Collaborate with cross-organizational teams to integrate GenAI-driven solutions seamlessly into existing applications.
• Work closely with leadership and stakeholders to identify AI opportunities and develop strategies for integrating GenAI technologies into Flipkart's business operations.
• Mentor and guide team members in understanding and applying large language models effectively, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Deliver solutions following modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, test-driven development (TDD), and scalable architecture design.
• Implement Gen AI paradigms such as prompt engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, AI, or a relevant discipline.
• 5+ Years of experience in Software Engineering
• Hands on Technical leadership experience is preferred and the expectation in this role.
• Solid proficiency (3+ years) in Python and related AI/ML libraries.
• Experience deploying AI-driven data products or solutions.
• Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code and work collaboratively.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI tech: Open AI / Gemini models or other open source large language models (LLMs) and large vision / multimodal models.
• Experience with Embeddings and Vector Databases, and frameworks such as Langchain or HuggingFace.
• Deep understanding of Gen AI paradigms such as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture and prompt engineering techniques.
• Experience with API-based integrations and cloud deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements effectively, with strong analytical skills for problem-solving.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent.
