Job Description

Your New Role

This role will be responsible for the design, development, build, installation, testing and evaluation of data science solutions that utilize Big Data technologies.

Under the general direction of a designated supervisor, the successful individual will perform the following functions as individual assignments or as part of a team:

• Analysis of user requirements and development of relevant analytical models,
• Test and validation of ML and AI models
• Data preparation and blending,
• Data analysis,
• Data visualizations and reporting.
• Deploy and support data analytics solutions with a focus on performance and security.

About You And What You’ll Bring

Coupled with your education and practical experience, you will demonstrate a pro-active approach with the ability to understand business needs and develop solutions to achieve company objectives.

• Substantial experience working in a similar role within an engineering or project environment,
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement solutions that satisfy complex needs for data mining, data analysis, model development and data visualisation.
• Expert knowledge of and implementation experience with a broad range of technologies, including:
• Data Analytics/ Data Science architectures,
• Modern Data Analytics/ Data Science tools for data analysis, visualisation and reporting,
• Data curation and data quality,
• Structured, unstructured and semi-structured data management.
• Strong analytical skills working with both structured and unstructured data.
• Strong hands-on development skills.
• Proven experience developing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence models.
• Be open to researching and creating new approaches.
• Knowledge and application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of Data Science.
  
  

Skills

• Essential skills include hands-on proven commercial experience with below (or equivalent): -
• SQL Server technologies,
• Programming/ scripting in R, Python, Java, Bash, Spark, Hive, TensorFlow
• Git, Bitbucket
• Power BI technologies,
• Highly desirable skills: familiarity with
• Solr
• Elasticsearch/ Elastic Stack,
• A broad range of data technologies, such as Postgres, Azure, Hadoop, Cloudera
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML)
• Large Language Models
• APIs,
• Qualitative analysis.
  

Due to the nature of work we do for our customers, all applicants need to hold an existing NV-1 security clearance and be capable of upgrading to a NV-2 security clearance if required.
